What Is Tengwar?

Tengwar is the writing system invented by J.R.R. Tolkien, most fully developed for his Elvish languages. Unlike the Latin alphabet — where letters represent fixed spellings — Tengwar is phonetic. Each character represents a sound. This means Tengwar can write any language, including your name in English, Turkish, Spanish, or any other tongue.
